KALEIDOSCOPE is an indie music concept created by Josh86 and DJ Disco Rude in 2003, to showcase local bands that fall outside of the mainstream. The genres explored range from punk to soul to disco to folk. It helped build a scene with acts such as Linus the Band, The Malcognitas, Le Tenia, At Sea, Painted Highways, Gary Liu, Sabrina, DJ Jet Boy and more
MANO KANE have made a name for themselves playing everywhere from Hawaii Theater, Mercury Bar and Thirtynine Hotel. Fusing Beat Scene, Mod grooves and thrashing rock n' roll, they have returned to the Honolulu nightlife after a stint on The East Coast.
DJ JET BOY is a promoter and DJ working in the Chinatown, Honolulu area. He got his start spinning vinyl at 80's nights and indie-garage events and has opened for varying acts like Black Lips, Steve Aoki and more.
Spinning since Halloween ‘94, San Francisco. Inspired by electronic music scene after a number of limeys brought rave to the Bay Area in late ‘90. Grew up on the classic rock, soul and disco from Mom & Dad’s Bay Boomer generation. Still loves hip hop, rap, indie, breakbeats and bass music of all kinds. First attended 1015 Folsom in ‘87 when it was Das Klub, to dance to post-wave electronic pop, industrio-goth, Miami bass, proto-house and disco revival in skinny black clothing, stand-up hair and skateboarding sneakers.
Captivated by jungle after hearing a DJ do it properly at Housewares during the Haight Street Fair, Summer ’95.
Moved to Honolulu 2001. Has played at the Top, Tricorder, Down There, Fuse, Rico’s, Treehaus, Club Pauahi, the Wave, Thirtynine Hotel, Electro-Lyfe, Subphonix, Broken Liquid, Speakers Corner, F*ck First Fridays, Asylum, Manifest, Mercury, Nextdoor, Lotus, Anna Bananna’s and Pundarika @ Kaka’ako Waterfront Park.
